Countless members have served in many of the Emmaus activities over many years. MDUMC has over 100 people who have participated and about 40 people who meet weekly in small groups to talk about their spiritual life. The objective of Emmaus is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action in our homes, churches, communities, and places of work. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love are revealed to us through other believers. The Walk to Emmaus is a 72-hour experience of Christian spiritual renewal and formation that begins with a three-day short course in Christianity. Walk to Emmaus: A Journey with Christ ~ While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and walked with them. By the power of the same Holy Spirit who took the gospel to Europe by way of Philippi, discover what Paul magnificently called, The Surpassing Value of Knowing Christ.Ħ:30 - 8:30 PM | Tuesdays, beginning April 11 (5 weeks) The Surpassing Value of Knowing Christ: A Study of Philippians by Beth and Melissa MooreĬome along with Beth and Melissa in this four-week, five-session study of Philippians. Join us for a weekly book study.Ħ:30 - 7:30 AM | Wednesdays, Starting February 1 We’ll go through the MDUMC lunch-line and then gather in D100 Hall to eat together while enjoying spirited (figuratively and literally) conversations around various topics.ġ2 - 2 PM | Monthly on the fourth Tuesdays, beginning January 24Ĭoffee. The new study has not yet been decided, but this group consistently meets regardless of the topic.ħ:45 PM | Wednesdays, beginning January 18Īgain, this year our “Listening for God” group will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month. This is an open-minded group that listens and learns from everyone’s comments. MDUMC West Campus – The Refuge (13150 Memorial Drive) Nursery care and activities for kids are provided at The Journey Worship Center.ĥ:30 - 7 PM | Wednesdays, beginning January 18 The adult study time will be broken up into some teaching each week followed by small group discussion. Each week we will have dinner together and then the kids will go to childcare at The Journey for a short lesson and playtime. Young Adult and Young Families’ Dinner and Bible Studyįamilies and Young Adults in their 30s and 40s are invited to join in a time of learning and fellowship.
